Rospotrebnadzor found no deviations in drinking water in Crimea and Kuban


Rospotrebnadzor has not found any excess of hazardous substances in the air, drinking water and fish in Crimea and Krasnodar region. This is reported on February 10 on the website of the agency.
It is noted that air samples were taken at 35 different points, including the area of work of liquidators and sanitary-protective cordon between residential buildings and enterprises for the accumulation of oiled sand. The resulting air was subsequently tested for more than 15 different chemical indicators, including benzene, phenol, hydrocarbons and other substances.
"About 7,000 tests have been carried out, currently no deviations have been recorded," Rospotrebnadzor said.
The agency also conducted 2.4 thousand tests of water from sources of drinking water supply and water distribution network. In this case, the indicators were substances-markers of organic pollution, as well as disinfection products. In addition, more than 1.2 thousand analyzes of fish and seafood from the Black Sea were performed.
"Also, more than 1.1 thousand sea water tests, about 4 thousand soil tests and about 500 tests of ready meals from field kitchens and places of accommodation of the Russian Emergencies Ministry employees and volunteers were carried out. As of today, no exceedances of norms have been recorded, except for oil products in sea water and coastal sand," the agency added.
It is emphasized that the agency continues to monitor the situation in the pollution zone.
Earlier, on February 7, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported new emissions of fuel oil at 15 sites in the Krasnodar region, Crimea and Sevastopol. The day before, new emissions of small fragments of fuel oil were found on several sections of beaches in Anapa.
On December 15, the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait due to bad weather. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. Two criminal cases were initiated over the incident.
Two days later, by the morning of December 17, oil products reached the shores of Anapa and Temryuksky district, and then Crimea. On December 26, a federal emergency regime was declared. On January 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the fuel oil spill in the Black Sea one of the most serious environmental challenges for the country in recent years.
