Pavilion No. 35 "Glavtabak", an object of cultural heritage of federal significance, is being restored at Moscow's VDNKh. In the course of works the preserved tiles are dismantled, cleaned, tinted and returned to their place, said in his personal blog the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

The lost tiles are made anew from similar materials - one such detail is created for more than two weeks. In addition, experts are recreating the chandelier that decorated the central hall of the pavilion. It is being made according to the surviving sketches and historical photos found in the archives of Moscow. The frame has already been made and the production of individual fragments is being finalized

Inside the pavilion, the painting of the plafond - a complex multicolor plant ornament of stylized flowers and leaves of fragrant tobacco - has been restored.

The restoration is planned to be completed in 2025.

The VDNH has been under revival since 2014. During this time, specialists have saved from destruction and restored almost four dozen objects of cultural heritage. Museums and exhibition spaces have been opened in the renovated pavilions.
