In the State Duma told about changes in the order of payment for heating from March 1

Russian citizens from March 1 will pay for heating only in those months when it is supplied to apartments. This was announced on Monday, February 10, by Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Utilities.

"To increase the transparency of payment for heating services by apartment owners, from March 1, 2025, there will be a ban on the transition of regions to such a form of payment, when the payment was split evenly throughout the year and, in fact, led to situations where many owners have a question about what they are paying for," he said in a conversation with "RIA Novosti".

According to Yakubovsky, when paying for heating only for those months when it is supplied, the owner will be able to understand whether the amount of payment corresponds to the meter readings.

At the same time, those regions that have already switched to equal payment will retain this system.

The deputy specified that the disadvantage of the change is that now the amount of payment for heating in the fall and winter period will be much higher than in the case of equal payments.

The reform is aimed at eliminating the dissatisfaction of citizens, explained "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on February 7, in the company Level Group said that from March 1, 2025 comes into force a decree, according to which it will be prohibited to switch to uniform payment for heating. In addition, in the second half of 2025 is expected indexation of the cost of housing and communal services, including heating.

Prior to that, on November 30, 2024, general director of the AID professional legal group, lawyer David Adams told Izvestia that pensioners can claim a number of subsidies and compensations related to the payment of housing and communal services (HCS). He also reminded that in some cases benefits can be lost, for example, in case of court-approved arrears in payment of housing and utility services.
