Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, surgeon Boris Gibert died in Tyumen at the age of 73. This was reported in the regional clinical hospital № 1 on February 10.

"At the 74th year of life passed away honored doctor of the Russian Federation, doctor of medical sciences, professor, a legend of Tyumen surgery Boris Korneevich Gibert", - stated in the publication on the page of the hospital in the social network "VKontakte".

The medical institution noted that in the memory of his colleagues, students and patients will remain his boundless love for medical work, incredible efficiency, a large number of scientific papers, thousands of operations and saved lives.

When choosing a profession, he was guided by his father, who was engaged in surgery all his life. As a result, Gibert practiced at the operating table for 40 years. The doctor even had a special technique, which was highly appreciated not only by domestic but also by foreign specialists.

Gibert devoted about 30 years to the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Tyumen. In the period from 2001 to 2002 he was the chief physician and later headed the surgical service. He left this position in 2023, becoming a scientific advisor to his colleagues.

In addition, for 20 years Gibert headed the Department of Faculty Surgery at Tyumen State Medical University. At the moment, all the staff of the department are his students.

Last year, by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the specialist was awarded the Medal "For Services to the Fatherland" of the II degree for his outstanding services that contributed to the development of the region and raising its prestige. In addition, Gibert holds the regional Prize named after V.I. Muravlenko, the "Excellent Healthcare Worker" badge, and the title of Honorary Healthcare Worker of the Tyumen Region.
