A resident of the town of Tashtagol in Kemerovo region increased the punishment for torturing her one and a half year old daughter. This is reported on February 10 on the official website of the prosecutor's office of the region.

It is specified that in the period from October to December 2023, the accused systematically beat her one and a half year old daughter, striking the girl with hands, broom and cord, and also took her out of the house in a cold and unheated room in December without appropriate clothing.

On one day, the woman grabbed the child by the arm, placed her in a chest, closed the lid and crushed her with a washing machine. The woman pleaded not guilty to the crime committed.

"Tashtagolsky city court passed a guilty verdict against a 23-year-old local resident. She was found guilty under item "g" part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (torture), article 156 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (improper fulfillment of duties on upbringing of a minor by a parent, combined with cruel treatment of a minor)", - informed the press service of the department.

The guilty was appointed three years and one month of imprisonment with serving the sentence in a penal colony of general regime, but in connection with the excessive leniency of the appointed punishment the city prosecutor appealed against the verdict in the appeal procedure.

Thus, the woman was sentenced to three years and two months of imprisonment with a fine of 5 thousand rubles.

Earlier, February 8, in Chernyakhovsk, Kaliningrad region, the court remanded in custody the mother of a seven-year-old boy, who was killed by his stepfather. It is noted that the accused is in custody until April 3, 2025.
