- The Defense Ministry showed footage of Boomerang-10 UAV units' combat work in the Kursk Region

The Russian Defense Ministry on Monday, February 10, showed footage of the combat work of the Boomerang-10 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units of the "North" group of troops during the destruction of small mobile groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Kursk Region.
"The modern Boomerang-10 UAVs allow operators to detect targets even in dense forest conditions and accurately hit them despite electronic interference. The Boomerang-10 is also used to storm Ukrainian militant positions. The drone is used to destroy moving targets, manpower in dugouts and special shelters," the Defense Ministry said.
Having received the assignment, the team moved to the specified area. Upon arrival, the operator, using virtual reality goggles, began to detect the target.
At this time, his assistant launched the drone into the air and began tracking its flight on the map, as well as orienting and correcting the operator in his work.
"This is the Boomerang-10 drone, manufactured in Moscow, our development. It comes in several configurations. <> We hit APCs from it, and mostly landings, dugouts, buildings where the enemy has settled," said a serviceman with the call sign Sonar.
"Boomerang-10" unlike conventional drones does not have a satellite communication module, so the anti-drone gun is powerless against it.
"The Russian Boomerang strike drone has shown high efficiency in the course of combat missions during the defense of borders in the Kursk region," the Defense Ministry summarized.
On February 9, the crews of Ka-52" of the "North" group of troops carried out strikes on AFU positions in the border area of Kursk region. After the strike, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude and also fired heat traps for anti-aircraft missiles.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
