- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister assesses prospects for restoring diplomatic relations with Georgia

Russia is in favor of continuing the development of relations with neighboring Georgia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with Izvestia.
"Seeing such a pragmatic line of the government of the Georgian Dream party, we have taken and are taking steps to develop Russian-Georgian cooperation, first of all in the interests of the peoples of our countries. And we are ready to continue on this path, ready to develop pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation with Georgia. We have been and will continue to be Georgia's key economic partner," the Russian diplomat emphasized.
The Russian side expects that such progress can lead to normalization in relations between the two countries, Mikhail Galuzin added.
"Here we are ready to go as far as the Georgian side is ready to go, and there are no restrictions for us here," he said.
