Colombia's president has demanded that ministers and department heads resign

Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Feb. 9 demanded that ministers and heads of administrative departments resign.
"I have demanded the formal resignation of ministers and directors of administrative departments," he wrote on the X network (formerly Twitter).
According to Petro, there will be changes in the cabinet in order to achieve greater compliance with the program ordered by the people.
The move comes after Environment Minister Susana Muhamad said on Sunday she had informed the president of her resignation, citing opposition to Petro's appointee Armando Benedetti joining the cabinet, Reuters informed.
Muhamad said she would stay on as president of the United Nations (UN) Biodiversity Organization, a summit that brought together 200 countries last October.
She added that she had discussed her disapproval of Benedetti during a recent ministerial meeting. She said he faced accusations of violence against women and abuse of power. Benedetti himself last week called the allegations slanderous.
