More than 80% of Russians named trust as the main quality of romantic relationships

About 70% of Russians said that they believe in love and that everyone should experience it at least once in their lives. This was reported by "Gazeta.Ru" on February 10 , having familiarized with the results of a survey by the marketing communications agency Pro-Vision Communications.

The majority of those who took part in the study (55%) indicated that they are in a relationship. 22% of respondents are in search of a soul mate, but a little less and convinced singles - 21% of the survey participants referred to themselves as such.

"Discussing what makes a happy relationship, respondents put trust (84%), support and care (75%), as well as common interests and values (61%) at the top of the list. About half of the respondents consider joint goals and plans (49.8%) and the feeling of security, which is possible only next to a really close person (47.9%), as a necessary condition for love. But passion and attraction were named as a 'component' of a happy love story by only 29.8% - almost as many as friendship (28.3%)," the study reads.

The study also touched upon the "red flags" - qualities and actions of the partner that are unacceptable and can put a cross on the relationship. Russians named cheating as the most important of them - 78% consider it unacceptable in a relationship.

Half of the respondents are not ready to put up with toxicity and violence on the part of the partner, as well as with the presence of his addictions - both alcohol and drug addiction, as well as gaming. Less than a third named infantility and parental interference in the couple's family life as factors unfavorable for relationships.

It is noted that at the stage of searching and choosing a partner, Russians focus on the physical and social data of the partner.

"Thus, 72.2% of respondents admitted that they first of all look at appearance - and only then at age (58%) and education (35.1%). Every fifth of those who are "in active search" are also interested in the profession, social status and religion of a potential partner. At the same time, income level and political views are considered important by only 14.1% and 13.7% of respondents respectively. And previous sexual experience is of interest to only 10%," the text says.

At the same time, in an already established couple the internal qualities of a person take the first place in terms of importance.

Although 80% of respondents were not against relationships and new acquaintances, two-thirds of respondents said they did not want to start a relationship with a partner who is already married or married. At the same time, 78% would not mind having an office romance with a coworker.
