Fraudsters have started spreading viruses under the guise of neural networks

Malicious copies of well-known chatbots such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek and Google Gemini are actively spreading on the Internet. One of the most common methods of spreading styler programs is the creation of applications masquerading as well-known services. For example, attackers often create malicious clones of applications of government agencies and banks, imitating their design and functionality, for example, the Gosusluzhby service.

"Often stylers are distributed via phishing emails with attachments or links to malicious files. However, AI technology is also used by attackers to make emails more believable and invisible to security services," said IT expert Lyudmila Bogatyryova.

Scammers create fake resources mimicking DeepSeek. For example, one such resource imitates a neural network authorization page, believes Olga Svistunova, senior content analyst at Kaspersky Lab. At the same time, the number of cyberattacks using stylers increased by 54% in 2024 compared to 2023 and by 156% compared to 2022, Informzaschita reported. In 2022 there were 240 thousand, and by 2024 the figure rose to 750 thousand attacks on users' devices.

As reported to "Izvestia" in the Ministry of digitization of the Russian Federation, it is impossible to buy, sell, gift or in any way re-register real estate on Gosusluga, there is no such functionality on the portal. On Gosuslugi you can only apply to the Rosreestr for registration of ownership, which has already arisen earlier.

"On Gosusluga multilevel protection is applied. It is possible to gain access to the account only if the user self-reported login details. Therefore, fraudsters use methods of social engineering, phishing, malicious applications to gain access to log in to the personal account of both Gosusluzhki and banking applications, mobile operators and other useful resources," - noted in the press service of the Ministry of digitization.
