Moscow Transport Museum to repair and restore 25 exhibits by the end of the year

In Moscow, 25 exhibits in the Museum of Transport will be repaired and restored by the end of 2025. This was reported on Sunday, February 9, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.
According to him, it is planned to carry out repair and restoration work on 42 exhibits, of which to complete the restoration of 25 exhibits and 12 artifacts, the agency of city news "Moscow".
In particular, the museum plans to complete the restoration of buses Leyland Den Oudsten and Ikarus 280, ambulance car RAF-22031, cab car GAZ-21T "Volga" in the color "red cap" in preparation for the opening of a permanent exhibition in the garage of Konstantin Melnikov. The most difficult objects to restore are the MTB-82 streetcar car and MTB-82M trolleybus due to their original condition, disassembled and lack of a complete set of drawings. There are also difficulties in finding the necessary components and spare parts, reports IA Regnum.
Since 2020, 35 vehicles and 76 artifacts, significant for the history of the capital, have been restored. Most of them are presented in the permanent exposition, which is located on Novobiazanskaya Street. For five years, the museum events were visited by more than 1 million people, specifies "Moscow 24". The museum's collection includes almost 240 pieces of equipment and 1515 artifacts. Among the most unique exhibits - the only recreated on the running part of the 1872 conka, passenger car KIM-10-50, crane platform SVARZ, RT reports.
