A national gastronomic map has appeared in Russia

A gastronomic map of Russia, which includes 215 brands of local foodstuffs, has been developed by Rospatent. So far, it covers 73 regions of the country. It shows both ancient dishes, which are already several centuries old, and those which have only appeared in modern times.
Most of all food brands in the map are from Krasnodar Krai, Tula, Astrakhan and Moscow regions. Out of more than two hundred brands in the gastrocard, 104 are food, the rest are beverages.
The largest number of regional edible symbols in the navigator is from the Krasnodar Territory (26). The Central Federal District turned out to be the leader in baked flour products - branded products are registered in the Tula, Voronezh, Belgorod, Moscow, Bryansk and Vladimir regions. The CFD also has the most patented desserts - gingerbread, kovrizhki, marshmallow, marshmallow and marmalade.
"Regional brands are an effective tool for attracting investment. Unlike trademarks, the rights to which only their owners have, regional brands stimulate the production of goods by local producers in the regions, krays and republics," Yuri Zubov, head of Rospatent, told Izvestia.
Among the "freshest" products are, for example, Karelian strawberries registered only in November 2024, Baidar honey from Sevastopol and Bakchar honeysuckle from the Tomsk region. Among the new regional brands on the gastronomic map are Kuban early potatoes, Sernurskaya Legend cheese from Mari El, Mozhaysky milk from the Moscow region, Melitopol cherries from the Zaporozhye region, Kholmov strawberries from the Crimea and Leningrad "pyshki" ponchiki.
And the "historical" brands include, for example, Udmurt perepechi, Karelian kalitki, Stolbushinsky sbiten, Belev gingerbread.
