Axios learned about the use of decoy planes for fear of an assassination attempt on Trump

Iran's threat to assassinate US President Donald Trump during his 2024 pre-election campaign has led his team to take extraordinary precautions, including the use of a decoy plane to prevent an attempt on his life. This was reported by Axios on February 9, citing a forthcoming book by journalist Alex Eisenstadt.

It is specified that Iran was not connected with two assassination attempts on Trump: on a golf course in Florida and in Pennsylvania in July.

"But at some point shortly after the Florida incident, Trump's security detail was so concerned about the Iranian threat that they forced Trump to travel to the event under a false plan," the portal informed.

According to the channel, the Trump administration decided to use a so-called decoy plane. Thus, part of Trump's staff flew on his recognizable personal plane, which raised the ire of employees who feared that they would become "collateral damage" if the plane was shot down.

Meanwhile, most of the Republican aides aboard the plane only learned of the plan just before takeoff, when they realized Trump's own window seat was empty.

During the election campaign, the flight on Trump's plane was dubbed the "Ghost Flight."

At the same time, the Secret Service organized a diversionary motorcade, with Trump in one and his staff in the other.

Earlier, on February 8, Trump demanded that the Secret Service provide him with "all information" about the assassins who attempted to assassinate him. He also accused former US President Joe Biden of withholding information.

In 2024, Trump survived two assassination attempts. The first occurred on July 13 at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The politician was shot tangentially in the ear. One of the spectators was killed, two were injured. The second attempt was made on September 15: there was a shooting at a golf club in West Palm Beach. Trump was 500 meters from the scene. The perpetrators in both cases were detained.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, while the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris - 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
