A powerful magnetic storm is expected on Earth against the background of the Sun's turn to the planet side with a coronal hole. This was reported on February 8 by experts from the laboratory of solar astronomy IKI and ISPH RAS.

"The edge of the rapid solar wind stream formed by the hole will be crossed, most likely, already today in the afternoon", - stated in the data published on the site.

It is noted that on Monday, February 10, weak magnetic storms are expected. However, to be in the zone of action of the hole Earth will be all week, the coronal hole will affect approximately until February 16.

It is also indicated that the speed of the plasma around the planet may increase to 600-700 km / s at the current rates of 350-400 km / s.

The power of magnetic storms is estimated on a five-point scale. G1 class storms are rated as weak, while the most powerful G5 class magnetic storms cause problems with electrical appliances, deterioration of radio communication and well-being of weather-dependent people

In December last year, Svetlana Kuprina, a general practitioner and ultrasound doctor at Invitro Voronezh, told Izvestia that it is especially important to avoid excessive physical and emotional stress during periods of magnetic storms. It is also necessary to maintain an optimal microclimate in the room, carry the necessary medications and promptly consult a doctor in case of deterioration of health.
