- Sergunina spoke about the popularity of the festival "Chinese New Year in Moscow"

The festival "Chinese New Year in Moscow", held from January 28 to February 9, has come to an end. The number of visitors doubled in comparison with last year's event, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said.
"The festival attracted about 1.5 million people. Master classes on calligraphy and creating paper dragons, board games and street performances, drummers' shows and tea ceremonies aroused great interest," Natalya Sergunina said.
Nearly 50,000 portions of hot meals and snacks and about 30,000 souvenirs (from books on Chinese culture to tea blends) were purchased by residents and guests of the capital. More than 120 Moscow restaurants offered authentic Chinese dishes, national desserts were especially popular.
The central sites of the festival - Manezhnaya, Bolotnaya and Tverskaya Squares - attracted a significant part of visitors. Manezhnaya Square hosted immersive shows and performances, as well as Hong Kong waffles, Peking duck and other treats. On Bolotnaya Square, musicians playing the Chinese seven-stringed guqin instrument performed, and in the evenings, projections of a koi carp pond were shown on the skating rink. A fascinating quest dedicated to the tea drinking culture of the two countries was held on Tverskaya Square. The guests of this location drank hundreds of liters of tea over two weeks.
