In Italy, a visitor to a museum in Brescia fell and accidentally tore a painting of the XVI century. This was reported by the newspaper Giornale di Brescia on Sunday, February 9.

Damaged turned out to be a work by Moretto, which dates from around 1524.

"The woman tripped and, falling, put her hand on the canvas," said Stefano Karadjov, director of the Brescia Museums Foundation.

According to him, the visitor was not injured, and the painting will be fully restored. As specified "Gazeta.Ru", since the work of art was insured, the woman is not obliged to compensate for the damage.

Earlier, November 6, 2024, in the National Gallery in London damaged the painting of Spanish artist Diego Velazquez "Venus with a mirror" 1647. Two people broke the protective glass of the exhibit. It is specified that they were participants of the environmental movement, which, among other things, opposes the expansion of British oil production.
