Ukrainian armed forces shot at border guards who tried to escape near Sverdlikove

About 10 Ukrainian border guards tried to escape from the Sverdlikov district in Kursk Region but came under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) barrier units. This was reported by TASS on February 9, citing Russian security forces.

"About 10 Ukrainian border guards tried to escape from the settlement near Sverdlikov, but came under fire from a barrier unit," the report said.

The source also said that the AFU fighters mined the entrances to the village.

Two months later, he found himself on the territory of Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
