NYP reported on Trump's call to organize meetings on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has instructed his national security adviser Mike Waltz to organize meetings on the settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by the New York Post (NYP) on February 9.
"Let's start these meetings. They want to meet. Every day people are dying. Young beautiful soldiers, young people like my sons are killed. On both sides. All over the battlefield," Trump addressed the adviser, who joined him in his office aboard Air Force One.
The publication recalled that at the same time the American leader said that he had a concrete plan to end the armed conflict.
"I hope it will be quick. Every day people are dying. <...> I want to put an end to this bloody situation," summarized the US President.
Earlier in the day, Trump said he held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov in turn did not confirm or deny these data.
Prior to that, on February 5, Trump said that Washington is currently holding "very constructive talks" with Moscow and Kiev to find a way to resolve the current conflict. At the same time, Peskov said that Russia and theUnited States are holding talks with each other at the level of separate agencies and their dialog has recently become more active.
