Ishiba said Japanese companies intend to build factories in the U.S.

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said that during the presidential term of American leader Joe Biden, Japanese automakers did not seek to open plants in the United States, but now that Donald Trump has become the head of the White House, the situation has changed. He said on the air of NHK TV channel on February 8.
"Regarding the creation of jobs in America by Japanese automakers, I'm sure the president's understanding has been realized. Several manufacturers under Biden did not develop in the United States," the Japanese prime minister said.
He said that with Donald Trump 's ascension to the presidency, many Japanese companies have announced that they will build plants in different parts of America.
Ishiba noted the large number of new jobs that will come from such cooperation. He said that from Trump's point of view, it is directly related to the recovery of the US industry.
The day before, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said that his country will continue to increase its investments in the United States, thus bringing them to $1 trillion dollars.
Earlier, Trump announced the U.S. approval of $1 billion worth of military supplies to Japan. According to Trump, Japan is one of the largest buyers of U.S. military products. Cooperation between Tokyo and Washington contributes, in his opinion, to stability in the Asia-Pacific region
