A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck off the coast of Honduras

An underwater earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 occurred off the northern coast of Honduras on February 9 at 2:23 Moscow time. This is reported by the site of seismic program GFN.

It is specified that the epicenter of the disaster was at a depth of 10 km. Approximate coordinates - 82.49 °W 17.62 °N.

The US Tsunami Warning System reported that a tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.

On February 6, the media reported on Israel's preparations for a possible tsunami due to earthquakes in Greece. Within a few days, the Greek island of Santorini has experienced more than 2 thousand earthquakes, some of which have a magnitude of 4.5 or higher.

Earlier the earthquake with magnitude 4.3 was recorded in Kamchatka. The epicenter of the seismic event was located 87 km from the village of Ust-Kamchatsk. The origin lay at a depth of 62 km. There was no information about casualties and damage.
