The Sakhalin Oblast is on high alert due to a stranded vessel

In the Nevelsky district of the Sakhalin region a high alert mode was introduced due to a grounded cargo ship. This was reported by the Governor of the region Valery Limarenko on February 9.

"Fuel spillage has not been recorded, there is no threat to the life and health of the crew. However, the situation requires prompt control and readiness for any scenarios. On my instruction, a high alert mode has been introduced in the area," he informed in his Telegram-channel.

In addition, the governor specified that an operational headquarters headed by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Rimsha had been set up in the Sakhalin region.

A foreign cargo ship ran aground in the Nevelsky district of the Sakhalin region on February 9. It is specified that there are 20 crew members on board the vessel. No fuel spillage is observed.
