Servicemen told details of the liberation of Dzerzhinsk

Servicemen of the 132nd Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Gorlovka Order of the Republic Brigade of the 51st Donetsk Army of the Center group of troops told Izvestia on February 9 about the details of the combat work to liberate Dzerzhinsk (Ukrainian name - Toretsk) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

"The Toretsk mine we took. The enemy was misled a little bit again. The enemy was waiting for us from the right flank, he had a good fortification there. We came in from the other side. The enemy was surprised, surprised. He had to retreat a little further down the mine", - said the commander of the assault squad Ivan Shulga.

It is specified that the Ukrainian formations had another fortification there, where Russian servicemen tried to conduct assault actions under the tank. After the rupture, the assault groups started moving forward and took the fortification of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"I can tell you that when we went into the first entrance, there were Poles there. We cleared it in seven hours. There were more than a dozen of them. And when the fifth, there were only six Ukrainazis there. We fought with them for three days," commented Artur Hazaryan, an assistant grenade launcher.

As a result, the Ukrainian militants gave up their position.

"We can say that Ukrainians do not want to fight. They don't want to at all," Khazaryan noted.

Earlier, on February 7, the Defense Ministry said that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) had liberated the town of Dzerzhinsk (Ukrainian name - Toretsk) in the Donetsk People's Republic.

At the same time, the Defense Ministry showed the work of operators of FPV drone strikes of the Altai motorized rifle unit of the Russian Group of Forces Center, which resulted in the destruction of a German-made Leopard tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
