One person was killed and one injured in a shooting in France

A member of the elite tactical unit of the French police RAID was injured and one of the attackers was killed in a shootout in France on the Côte d'Or highway in the east of the country. This was reported on February 8 by the French TV channel BFM TV with reference to the prosecutor's office.

It is noted that the shooting occurred on the night of February 8.

According to the TV channel, two police officers in the framework of the mission on the case of organization of illegal migration were following a car with British license plates. Two men got out of the car and started shooting at the special services officers with automatic weapons. The police officers returned fire.

The attackers tried to flee the scene, but the special services soon found a damaged car with a fatally wounded man inside.

Three more participants of the shooting were detained. The last, fifth attacker is still being sought, the TV channel added.

It is specified that the policeman was wounded in the leg, he was taken to the hospital and his health is not threatened.
