More than 30 people are missing as a result of a landslide in China. This was reported on February 8 by Xinhua news agency with reference to the local headquarters for the prevention and control of geological disasters.
It noted that the landslide occurred at 11:50 (6:50 Moscow time) that day in the village of Jinping in the southwest of the country. Ten houses were buried under the ground as a result of the incident.
"Two people were rescued in the afternoon of the same day, rescue work is ongoing," Xinhua wrote.
Earlier, on January 12, it was reported that landslides in the Ipatinga region of Brazil killed at least 11 people. According to the military fire department of the state of Minas Gerais (CBMMG), two of the victims were children of eight years old.
