State Duma proposes new measures to protect Russians from credit fraudsters
The State Duma (GD) has prepared a number of amendments to the second reading of the bill on the "cooling off period", which provides for additional measures to protect against credit fraudsters. This was reported by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in Telegram-channel on February 8.
"If the creditor has not carried out the established verification measures, as a result of which a criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of funds was initiated, then from the borrower can not be demanded payments under the loan agreement," - stated in the statement.
It added that when applying to the credit organization, the client will need to provide his TIN for accurate identification.
"It is important to protect people from fraudsters. Therefore, the term of entry into force of a number of provisions has been halved - from 180 to 90 days," Volodin pointed out.
According to him, the bill will be considered in the second reading next week.
Earlier, on January 15, the State Duma at the meeting adopted in the first reading of the bill on the introduction of a "cooling off period" between the design and receipt of consumer credit. According to the bill, financial transactions will not be carried out for four hours for amounts from Br50 thousand to Br200 thousand and 48 hours for amounts over Br200 thousand.
