Kovalchuk called science a major creative force
Science today is the main creative force ensuring the development of civilization. This was stated by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" on February 8, the Day of Russian Science Mikhail Kovalchuk.
"Science is the main creative force, the driving force of civilization progress. Today it is especially important and clearly visible in many manifestations: any thing you take in your hands, everything you see and use is, one way or another, the fruit of scientific thought," he said during an address to the participants of the All-Russian dictation "Science in the Name of Victory".
Kovalchuk called science one of the most important and noble endeavors in the world. He added that the more a person knows, the more effective he becomes in the future.
Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the growing importance of science in the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation. He noted the contribution of innovative ideas of outstanding scientists, researchers and inventors to the development of physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology. Mishustin also emphasized the training of highly qualified personnel, on which depends the emergence of promising developments that can improve the quality of life of many Russians.
