The AFU launched a massive strike on Novaya Kakhovka

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have launched a massive strike on Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson Region, with several buildings damaged. This was reported by the head of the city district Vitaly Gura in Telegram-channel on February 8.

"As a result of massive shelling in the town of Novaya Kakhovka, five apartment buildings <...> were damaged. Windows were broken out, walls and roofs were damaged," the statement reads.

Gura also said that an administrative building, a non-functioning store, a farm building, two power lines, a gas pipeline, as well as the road surface in the yards of houses were damaged.

According to the head of the district, there were no casualties.

Earlier, on February 4, one woman was injured during the AFU strike on Novaya Kakhovka. She was hospitalized.

On January 30, as a result of the AFU shelling of the residential sector in the village of Cairo in Kherson region, one person was killed and another was injured. Spokesman for the governor of the region Volodymyr Vasylenko specified at the time that the victim received medical care at the scene, she refused hospitalization.

The Ukrainian armed forces are shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid a special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russia on February 24, 2022
