Deputy Health Minister detained in Udmurtia in a case of large bribes
In Udmurtia, the deputy minister of health care has been detained in a case of a large bribe. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the region in Telegram-channel on February 8.
According to investigators, the suspect, who previously held the position of chief physician of the city clinical hospital No. 2, received a bribe in the form of 1.3 million rubles from a representative of a ritual company for facilitating the conclusion of a contract for the transportation of dead bodies from the hospital in order to provide information on deaths and the subsequent conclusion of a contract on funeral services with relatives.
"The illegal activity of the accused was revealed as a result of a set of investigative actions and operational-search activities," the statement said.
Also on the fact of mediation in bribery was detained 59-year-old acquaintance of the Deputy Minister.
Criminal cases were opened against them under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receipt of a bribe on a large scale") and Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in bribery, committed on a large scale"). The suspects were arrested.
Earlier, January 13, two entrepreneurs were detained in Leningrad region on suspicion of large-scale bribery. According to law enforcers, in 2024, the suspects gave monthly bribes to the deputy head of the State Automobile Inspection Department in Vyborgsky district "for general patronage and connivance in the service". The total amount transferred amounted to 970 thousand rubles.
