In Alaska, all ten people aboard the missing Bering Air airplane have died. The Associated Press (AP) reported this on February 8, citing the U.S. Coast Guard.
"The small commuter airplane <...> was discovered on sea ice on Friday and all 10 people on board have died," the statement said.
The US Coast Guard confirmed, the plane went missing about 48 kilometers southeast of the city of Nome. Rescuers were searching for the plane's location with the help of a helicopter.
It is specified that two of the deceased were on a work trip of a non-profit health organization. The identities of the others have not been released. The cause of the crash is also not yet reported.
