Air defense forces have repelled an attempted attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil refinery in Volgograd Region. This was reported by the head of the region Andrei Bocharov on February 8.
"Tonight, February 8, on-duty air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Volgograd region repelled a UAV attack on an oil refinery station in the Kumylzhensky district. Firefighting forces of the regional firefighting service and the Ministry of Emergency Situations promptly arrived at the site, there was no fire as a result of falling debris," the Telegram channel of the Volgograd region administration quotes Bocharov as saying.
The governor added that there was no damage to residential facilities and no casualties.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported about 36 drones shot down over Russian regions. Thus, 18 drones were shot down over the territory of Rostov region, 11 UAVs were intercepted over the territory of Volgograd region, five - intercepted over the territory of Belgorod region and two - over Krasnodar Krai.
