The right choice of lighting, multifunctional appliances and a well-thought-out storage system will help to organize even a small kitchen effectively. Ksenia Kuznetsova, designer and product director of the interior design company Mr.Doors, told about it on February 7.

According to her, light shades in finishes and furniture sets do help to visually expand the space, but do not always correspond to the general concept of the interior or the preferences of the owners.

"In this case, to help comes competent lighting, in which any, even the darkest in shade kitchen, at any time of day will be perceived as a spacious space. We are talking about ceiling lighting, lighting built into the headset, as well as additional light sources that can be used if necessary," Kuznetsova told Gazeta.Ru.

Another aspect that affects the usability of the kitchen is the choice of appliances. In small rooms, it is better to abandon individual devices with narrow functions and give preference to universal solutions.

According to the expert, if there is not much space, it is worth considering replacing the standard cooktop with a model with two or three burners to free up more work surface. Compact ovens will also help to rationalize the space, leaving more room for storage.

When designing a kitchen, it's also important to consider enough storage space. Even a small area can be used as efficiently as possible, if you think about the location of cabinets and shelves in advance.

According to the designer, it is better to refuse excessively open systems and provide overhead cabinets reaching the ceiling to create additional areas for placing kitchen utensils. Properly organized space will avoid clutter and make the kitchen convenient in everyday use.
