Gladkov commented on the death of two paramedics in a traffic accident in Belgorod

Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that he personally knew two paramedics killed in a traffic accident with an ambulance. He said this on February 7 during the broadcast "10 questions to the Governor" in the social network VK.

"A terrible tragedy that shocked us all. I knew the girls who died, saw them many times on calls during shelling, when they rendered assistance to wounded children, adults. They saved them without thinking about their own safety. We are all, of course, horrified," he said.

The governor also noted that the regional authorities will provide assistance to the families of the dead girls.

A criminal case has been opened by the city police over the incident.

"It is very difficult to find words that would take away this grief. We hope that all the criminals will be punished, because there is definitely no forgiveness for them," Gladkov concluded.

The accident happened on the night of February 6-7 in the center of Belgorod. The driver of a BMW car ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into an ambulance. The accident claimed the lives of two young female paramedics.

Now there is a spontaneous memorial in the city at the scene of the accident, where residents carry flowers to honor the memory of the victims.
