Time magazine put Musk on the cover at the US president's desk
The American weekly Time has placed on the cover of its next issue American billionaire Ilon Musk at the table of the US President. The illustration was published on the publication's website on February 7.
The image shows the entrepreneur sitting at the so-called Resolute table, which stands in the Oval Office of the White House. Behind Musk's back is the presidential flag, as well as the US banner.
US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the day of his inauguration on January 20 to create the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) headed by Musk. The main purpose of the new structure was the optimization of government spending, as well as updating federal software to the levels accepted in the private sector, specified "Gazeta.Ru".
Later, on February 3, Musk announced the launch of the process of liquidation of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Also, the entrepreneur said that the agency is unrecoverable and it is necessary to get rid of it.
On February 5, Bloomberg reported that Musk ' s team gained access to a secure room at USAID, which contained classified documents. The team from DOGE reportedly consisted of four people under the age of 30. While trying to enter the secured room, a conflict broke out between them and USAID security, during which one of the DOGE employees called Musk personally and the latter threatened the guards to involve the U.S. Marshals Service if his team was not allowed to enter.
On the same day, NBC News reported that the entrepreneur has recently received reminders from the Trump administration that his power is limited. It is noted that the President's aides have made it clear to Musk that he is a member of the head of state's staff and must report to the head of the White House Susie Wiles.
At the same time, the billionaire called himself "White House tech support" in the description of his profile in the social network X (former Twitter).
