Chernyshenko held a meeting on training in the tourism sector
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko on Friday, February 7, held a meeting on the issue of staff training in the field of tourism and hospitality.
According to him, at the moment about 1 million people are employed in this sphere, the need for employees is about 250 thousand people. It is noted that by 2030 the number will increase to 400 thousand people.
"Formation of the system of training and development of human resources potential of tourism and hospitality workers is one of the priority tasks of the industry, set by President [of the Russian Federation] Vladimir Putin," - said the deputy chairman of the government.
Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of Russia, in turn, noted that tourism needs a model of integration with secondary vocational education, as well as the need for interaction with strong regional universities. According to him, it is worth working out the issue of including the theme of productivity in training programs.
The head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov specified that at the moment special attention is paid to training in tourism. He added that the new model of higher education promotes qualitative changes in the implementation of programs.
Meeting with Ambartsum Galustov, Acting Director of the Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RSUTIS), Chernyshenko pointed out the plans to develop the scientific and educational infrastructure of the university in Zavidovo near Moscow and in Anapa.
Earlier, on November 26, 2024, Ilya Umansky, president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST), shared with Izvestia that there is a shortage of line and managerial staff in the field of tourism. According to him, there is a need for simple training tools, courses that provide a quick entry into the profession for an older audience.
