ICC plans to continue work despite US sanctions

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has sharply condemned the sanctions measures imposed by the United States on the institute. According to the official statement of the ICC on February 7, the organization will continue its work regardless of the restrictions.

The press release noted that Washington's executive order sanctioning ICC officials is detrimental to the independent and impartial work of the judges.

"The court strongly supports its staff and is committed to continuing to provide justice and hope to millions of innocent victims of crime around the world," the document said.

The organization also called on the 125 participating states, civil society and all countries of the world to "unite for justice and fundamental human rights."

Before that, January 10, the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved a bill to impose sanctions against the International Criminal Court in case of its proceedings against the United States and its allies.
