New Foton Tunland V7 and V9 pickup trucks introduced in Russia
Sales of new Chinese pickup trucks Foton Tunland V7 and V9 are planned to start in Russia in spring 2025. This is stated in the message of the distributor company "MB RUS", which was received by "Izvestia" on February 7. The demonstration of the novelties took place at the Fleet World 2025 forum in the Moscow region
Both pickups are equipped with a two-liter turbodiesel engine rated at 162 hp (390 Nm), which works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The inline-48V hybrid powertrain provides an additional 60Nm of torque (over 80Nm at peak loads). The hybrid system has an energy recovery function, which provides fuel economy of 5-8%, reducing overall fuel consumption to 8 liters/100 km, the company said.
Foton Tunland V7 is equipped with a rear leaf spring suspension for greater reliability and stability when the body is fully loaded, while the V9 pickup is equipped with a rear spring suspension for a more comfortable ride. Both models received front independent suspension on double wishbones with stabilizer bar. It is noted that the pickups have earned the maximum five-star safety rating in China's C-NCAP testing and crash tests. The equipment includes six airbags.
Now MB RUS sells only one pickup truck in Russia - Foton Tunland G7. It is equipped with a two-liter turbodiesel engine with an output of 162 hp, eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system with rear axle differential lock. Payload of the pickup truck is 905 kg.

In the most affordable version Sollers ST8 is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbo engine. In all modifications Sollers ST8 has an all-wheel drive system and a manual six-speed mechanics.
On January 30, the company "Sollers" announced the launch of production of all-wheel drive pickup trucks Sollers ST6 and ST8 on a full-cycle technology at the industrial site UAZ in the Ulyanovsk region. Ulyanovsk-made pickup trucks will appear in dealerships in the first quarter of 2025.
