- Work to dismantle the Ural Airlines plane that went down in a field has been completed
Work to dismantle the Ural Airlines plane that crash-landed on a field in the Novosibirsk Region in September 2023 has been completed. "Izvestia" on February 7 publishes a video of how their final stage took place.
Currently, the hull of the Airbus A320 aircraft with the tail number RA-73805 is sawn into separate small fragments. The workers cut it with saws and bolt cutters. The parts remain lying on the snow on the fenced territory.
The parts suitable for further use will be used for their intended purpose, while the severely damaged ones will be utilized.
Earlier, on January 23, the press service of the carrier reported that the work on the disassembly of the aircraft was at the final stage. It was reported that the first elements removed were sent to Yekaterinburg in mid-October last year. In the near future, all other components will be sent there as well. There the expertise will evaluate them for further operation.
A year ago, Ural Airlines leased a field in Ubinsky District, Novosibirsk Region, on which its passenger plane landed in mid-September 2023, signing a one-year contract. How the airliner would be evacuated was not reported at the time. The airplane was fenced off and the area was taken under guard.
Theincident with the plane occurred on the morning of September 12, 2023. The crew of the Airbus A320 airplane, traveling from Sochi to Omsk, gave an alarm signal. Judging by the recording of the pilots' negotiations, which appeared at the disposal of Izvestia, one of them reported a loss of hydraulics before coming in for an emergency landing in a field. More than 165 people, including crew members, were on board the airliner. Five passengers sought medical attention. Two of the injured were diagnosed with contusions and sent for X-rays.
A criminal case was opened for violation of the rules of safety of air transport movement and operation (part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In December, Izvestia reported that Sergey Belov and Eduard Semenov, the commander of the aircraft and co-pilot of Ural Airlines, were offered voluntary resignation.
