The best sites for starting an online business in Russia have been named

Avito Classifieds has been recognized as the best platform for launching an online business in Russia. This follows from the results of a survey conducted by the RBC Market Research agency. The platform was voted for by 31.4% of respondents.

On the second and third places were the marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries. They were mentioned by 21.2% and 20.5% of respondents, respectively. The top five also included VKontakte (5.8%) and Telegram (5.8%).

All survey participants are engaged in selling goods via the Internet. In addition, some of them sell products offline (25.6%), work in manufacturing (7.9%), construction (3.1%) and others. The majority (64.7%) work as individual entrepreneurs, while 25.9% are self-employed.

Among those who intend to open a business, 50.7% plan to do so within the next six months. At the same time, more than half of the respondents were primarily interested in three sites - Ozon, Wildberries and Avito.

"Now on "Avito" about a million active users - representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, using the site for a wide range of tasks. We are not a marketplace and do not aspire to become one, our model involves a completely different format of interaction between seller and buyer and is built on the DNA of social commerce", - said the commercial director of "Avito Goods" Alexei Lee.

According to Mikhail Burmistrov, general director of Infoline-analytics, by the end of 2024, Russia has surpassed South Korea and is second only to China in terms of penetration of online non-food shopping.

"Thus, the quality of service that Russia now provides online is actually unique even by global standards. At the same time, Avito at the current stage of its development is a platform with a minimum entry threshold," he emphasized.

The expert added that the trend for rapid growth continues, and it is developing not only in the country's major cities, but also in smaller ones.
