New fuel oil emissions were recorded in Kuban, Crimea and Sevastopol

On the coast of the Black Sea in the Krasnodar region, Crimea and Sevastopol at 15 sites found fuel oil emissions. This was reported on February 7 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"At 15 sites of work recorded cases of point emissions of fractions of petroleum products," - stated in the message of the Department.

It is noted that since the beginning of the work has been cleaned more than 355 km of coastline, including repeatedly. About 180 thousand tons of polluted sand and soil were collected and 21 thousand tons were sifted.

Work on disposal of contaminated soil is carried out by specialized organizations.

The day before new emissions of small fragments of fuel oil were found on several sections of beaches in Anapa. It was specified that specialists worked on several sections of the beach in the village of Vityazevo and near the mouth of the Mozhepsin River.

Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" due to bad weather crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. Two criminal cases were initiated over the incident.

Two days later, by the morning of December 17, oil products reached the shores of Anapa and Temryuksky district, and then Crimea. On December 26, a federal emergency regime was declared. On January 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the fuel oil spill in the Black Sea one of the most serious environmental challenges for the country in recent years.
