The Russian tanker Khatanga is going to be removed from the Polish port of Gdynia. This was reported on February 6 by the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic in the social network X (former Twitter).

"According to the decision of the head of the Maritime Directorate in Gdynia, the Gdynia port administration is obliged to remove the Russian vessel "Khatanga", which has been standing in the port since 2017", - follows from the statement.

The ministry noted that the vessel threatens the safety of navigation and has been decommissioned.

The port administration should fulfill the order of the ministry within three months. The Ministry noted that the vessel was taken out of service.

The Khatanga tanker arrived at the port of Gdynia in 2017, failed to pass port control and was detained. The owner of the vessel was Murmansk Shipping Company. It was declared bankrupt in 2020.

Earlier, on January 27, the British newspaper Express, citing sources, reported that the British military is ready to detain Russian ships off the coast of the UK. The publication noted that the United States urged the United Kingdom to strengthen control over the coast because of the threat of an attack on critical infrastructure, which allegedly comes from Russia.
