Memorial plaques will be erected in Moscow to five Heroes of the Soviet Union. Among them are Air Marshal Alexander Silantiev, Army General Nikolai Lyashchenko, Lieutenant General of Aviation Anatoly Kozhevnikov, Guards Colonel Alexander Timoshchenko, Rear Admiral Andrei Katyshev. This is reported on Friday, February 7, on the portal of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
A memorial plaque in memory of the participant of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) Lieutenant General of Aviation Anatoly Leonidovich Kozhevnikov (1917-2010) will be installed on the house number 62 on Leningradsky Prospekt. During the war he made more than 300 combat sorties, took part in 69 air battles, shooting down 25 enemy planes personally and two more planes - as part of a group. Kozhevnikov died on December 5, 2010, after which he was buried at Troekurovskoye cemetery.
Also a memorial plaque in memory of the participant of the Great Patriotic War, ace pilot Air Marshal Alexander Petrovich Silantiev (1918-1996) will be installed at the address: Mosfilmovskaya Street, house number 11, building 2. On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War Alexander Silantiev fought from the first day - already on June 22, 1941 he performed several combat sorties. He died on March 10, 1996 and was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.
In memory of the participant of the Great Patriotic War, Army General Nikolai Grigorievich Lyashchenko (1910-2000), a monument will be erected at the address: Mosfilmovskaya Street, house No. 11, building 2. From May 29, 1943 to the end of the war Lyashchenko commanded the 90th Infantry Division in the 2nd Shock Army on the Leningrad and 2nd Belorussian Fronts. The veteran died on October 10, 2000, buried in Kuntsevskoye cemetery.
A memorial plaque in memory of the participant of the Great Patriotic War, Guards Colonel Alexander Grigorievich Timoshchenko (1903-1974) will be installed at the address: Pokrovka Street, house No. 20/1, building 1. On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War Alexander Timoschenko fought since June 1941. He was a participant of the operation "Bagration". The veteran died on April 11, 1974, buried in the Vvedensky cemetery.
A memorial plaque in memory of Rear Admiral Andrey Pavlovich Katyshev (1930-2018) will be installed at the address: Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Alley, house number 6. In the summer of 1955, Andrei Katyshev sailed the submarine S-178 from the White Sea along the Northern Sea Route. atyshev led and personally participated in complex submarine cruises to test the latest weapons systems and equipment. Died on July 30, 2018, buried at the Troekurovskoye cemetery.
Earlier, on January 29, the participant of the Great Patriotic War Boris Kravtsov was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Moscow. The veteran is 102 years old, and he is the last Hero of the Soviet Union in the country. Sobyanin added that in the coming days he will send proposals to the municipal councils of deputies to award the title "Honorary resident of the municipality" to all Muscovites - participants of the Great Patriotic War.
