The Health Ministry plans to change the program of preventive medical examinations of children, adding examinations by an obstetrician-gynecologist and a child urologist-andrologist at the age of 13, according to an order published on February 6 on the portal of legal acts.

According to the document, the list of examinations by specialized doctors will be expanded in terms of reproductive health assessment for the purpose of earlier diagnosis of reproductive disorders in puberty.

The examination of blood cholesterol levels using test strips for the prevention of cardiologic diseases is also proposed to be included in the procedure for preventive medical examinations of minors.

In addition, it is proposed to conduct electrocardiography for children in one month for early detection of heart rhythm disorders and prevention of sudden infant death syndrome.

Earlier, on January 21, the Ministry of Health reported on reproductive health checks in more than 6 million Russians. This is more than 2.5 million men and 3.5 million women. The Ministry of Health introduced new approaches to the work of women's clinics aimed at forming positive reproductive attitudes.
