Kanye West has come forward about his autism diagnosis

American rapper Kanye West has revealed that he has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The corresponding statement he made in an interview with musician Justin Laboy, published on February 5 on Youtube.

The rapper was previously diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder (BAD). West shared that it was suggested to him to go to a specialist again by his wife Bianca Censori. She stated that "some of his traits didn't correlate with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder."

"That's how I found out that I actually have autism," the musician said.

He emphasized that he became more aware of some of his behavioral patterns after his diagnosis.

Although autism is not a mental illness, back in 2020, the musician's ex-wife Kim Kardashian noted that she occasionally has difficulty interacting with West because of his mental health issues.

Previously, the rapper repeatedly mentioned BAR in his compositions. For example, the cover of his 2018 album paints the caption, "I hate bipolar disorder, it's beautiful."
