In the north of Kamchatka, the state of high readiness, introduced due to abnormal frosts, has been extended until the end of the week. Emergency services of Penzhinsky district promptly respond in case of leaks.
According to the Minister of Emergency Situations of the region Sergey Lebedev, which is quoted by KamchatkaMedia news agency, the situation is normal so far, despite the fact that the abnormal frosts have lasted for a long period.
In Penzhinsky district the settlements are located at a considerable distance from each other. Villagers are urged not to leave their homes without an urgent need. If such a need arises, they should dress for the weather, report the route to relatives, do not move alone between settlements.
The regime of increased readiness was introduced in the northernmost Penzhinsky district of the region at the end of January. The temperature dropped to -46 degrees Celsius.
Earlier, leading specialist of the information agency "Meteonovosti" Tatiana Pozdnyakova reported that snowfalls and snowstorms are expected in Moscow in the second half of February. The specialist noted that some models of long-term forecasts say about a significant amount of precipitation in the second half of February.
