Woman injured in AFU shelling of Nova Kakhovka

A woman has been injured in the shelling of the town of Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson Region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the press secretary of the Governor of the region Vladimir Vasilenko on February 6.

"Today at 12:55 Moscow time in Novaya Kakhovka on Enthusiastov Street a woman born in 1955 was injured as a result of shelling of the residential sector. She was hospitalized in the Kakhovka Central Regional Hospital," he told TASS.

Vasilenko specified that the victim was hospitalized with a mine blast injury and shrapnel wounds to her legs.

Earlier, on February 4, one woman was injured in an AFU strike on Novaya Kakhovka, she was given the necessary medical care.

On January 30, as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian army of the residential sector in the village of Cairo in Kherson Region, one person was killed and another was injured. Vasylenko specified at the time that the victim received medical assistance at the scene, she refused to be hospitalized.

The AFU has been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid the special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
