Fridman and Aven put a hunting farm near Vologda up for sale
Russian businessmen Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven, in addition to selling their stakes in Alfa Bank and AlfaStrakhovanie, are also selling a hunting farm in the Vologda Region. The announcement about the sale of the asset was published on the international trade portal LesnoyResurs.RF, Izvestia found out.
It is about LLC "Hunting farm "Medved". According to the announcement, the owners intend to get 200 million rubles for it.
The description states that "Medved" is "one of the best hunting grounds in Russia" with an area of 62.7 thousand hectares. The territory is inhabited by 19 species of mammals and 23 species of birds, offers hunting for bear, grouse, wild boar, elk, as well as quiet hunting. At the disposal of visitors: a guest house, bathhouses and a staff house.
"At a convenient time" to potential buyers are ready to conduct a tour of the hunting farm and answer all questions.
On the sale by Aven and Fridman of their stakes in Alfa Bank and AlfaStrakhovanie to business partner Andrei Kosogov, the Financial Times reported on February 6, citing sources. According to the newspaper, in 2023, Fridman and Aven sold their stakes in Alfa Bank and a related insurance company to their longtime partner Andrei Kosogov in order to get off the EU sanctions lists.
The entrepreneurs owned a total of 45% of shares in the bank and 42% in the insurance company, at the time of the agreements, they were valued at 240 billion rubles.
In March 2022, sanctions were imposed on Fridman and Aven after a special military operation was launched, as a result of which the businessmen's bank accounts were blocked and their real estate fell under restrictions.
In May of the same year, the businessmen filed lawsuits with the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
In October 2023, Aven called his multi-billion dollar investments in Western countries a mistake. Fridman also regretted his decision to invest in England.
In November 2023, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Mikhail Fridman's return to Russia. According to him, he is no different from other businessmen who have decided to come back to their native country, because everyone has the same homeland.
In April 2024, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg granted the claim of Fridman and Aven to cancel the European sanctions imposed on them. According to the court, the Council of Europe did not prove that the businessmen were involved in "attempts to undermine Ukraine".
