Ukrainian media reported about Kellogg's planned visit to Kyiv on February 20

US President Donald Trump's special envoy on the Ukrainian settlement Keith Kellogg will visit Kiev on February 20. This was reported on Wednesday, February 5, by the Ukrainian TV channel "Public" with reference to a source in the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired last May).
"The visit of the special representative of US President [Donald] Trump on Ukraine Kellogg's visit is planned for February 20. This date was proposed by the American side," reads the Telegram channel of "Public".
Kellogg said on January 31 that Trump intends to give Moscow and Kiev leverage to negotiate a settlement of the conflict. According to the speaker, the administration of the United States is considering options to pressure not only Russia, but also Ukraine. According to Kellogg's words, all this "will provide the President of the United States with leverage to end the conflict."
Earlier in the day, Trump said he was holding "very constructive talks" with Russia and Ukraine to resolve the conflict.
Before that, on February 4, Zoltan Koskovic, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired on May 20, 2024) should give up his post and give way to a new leader after Kellogg's words. The one said that if the fire is stopped, Zelensky is obliged to appoint presidential and parliamentary elections in the country. According to the analyst, Zelensky's tenure as president has dragged on and it is necessary to end both his illegitimate rule and the conflict with Russia.
Reuters said on Feb. 1 that the Trump administration has for several days continued to discuss ways to persuade Ukraine to hold presidential elections in the country as part of a truce with Russian Federation so that the country's newly elected leader would take responsibility for negotiating a long-term deal with Russian Federation.
On the same day, North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte said that NATO had prepared secret tactics for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine. He added that the West should provide Kiev with the best possible position by providing it with weapons and training for Ukrainian soldiers.
The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, the Ukrainian president put into effect the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council that it was impossible to hold talks with Putin
