High-tech innovations of civil aviation, including a line of domestic engines for passenger airliners, were presented at the NAIS-2025 civil aviation infrastructure exhibition in Moscow. Izvestia correspondent reported on what he saw on February 5.
The event brought together over 7 thousand specialists from 140 companies supplying equipment and technologies for the air transportation industry in Russia, Belarus, China and Iran.
In 2024, almost 112 million passengers were carried by civil airlines.
"This growth by 2023 is quite significant - almost 6% in total. Of course, I want to thank all the market participants, our airlines, engineering and service services, because for us today task No. 1 is not only to preserve aviation mobility in our country, but most importantly - to ensure flight safety," said the head of the Ministry of Transport Roman Starovoit.
The basis of the aircraft fleet in Russia is still Boeing and Airbus, the task of the industry and aviation authorities at the same time is to maximize the transition to Russian technologies and, most importantly, aircraft, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
"We have a task to completely import substitution and that aircraft, I mean Superjet and Tu-214, which we already had, and Il-76, and new aircraft also completely on its own technological base to realize at the expense of our own developments," he specified.
The exhibition also presents motors for all types of aircraft. Besides, the guests of the event will be able to see the novelties of the Perm plant and the heart of the future Sukhoi Superjet modification - PD-8. The engine is still undergoing tests, including flight tests on a special airplane-laboratory.
A significant part of the exposition is devoted to unmanned civil aviation. Its largest representatives are agrodrones, which are used for processing fields. In the engineers' prospect to create a delivery drone.
The platform will work on February 5 and 6. Within the framework of the event, several large cooperation agreements will be signed. It is already known that this exhibition will be the largest in all 12 years of NAIS history.
Earlier in the day, Alexander Nefediev, vice-president, financial director of the Avangard Design and Installation Center (PMC), said that the exhibition presents, among other things, a special radar capable of detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type. He specified that the complex integrated a means of electronic suppression. Thus, in case of its action quadrocopters can hover, return to the place of launch or be suppressed.
