Introduction of biometric check-in is not just a convenience for guests, but also a serious step in optimizing the work of hotel staff. Alexey Korneev, the founder of Timjet, told Izvestia on February 5 about the advantages of such a tool.

Thus, automation of registration will reduce the load on administrators, increase the speed of service and minimize the human factor, he shared. Especially, according to the expert, it is relevant for large hotel chains with high traffic, where fast data processing directly affects the quality of service. Guests will no longer have to spend time filling out forms and checking documents - everything will happen automatically, which is especially valuable for business travelers.

Besides, Korneev stressed, digitalization of hotel business leads to reduction of operating costs. For example, identification by biometrics can reduce the need for paper documents, reduce the cost of data processing and reduce the burden on staff. The freed resources can be directed to improving the quality of service, personalization of services and development of additional services - this makes the hotel business not only more technological, but also more profitable, added the interlocutor of the publication.

At the same time, he noted that there are still issues related to data security. Hotels work with a large amount of personal information and their protection should be at the highest level, but some small hotels may not have sufficient resources to implement sophisticated cyber defense systems.

"The regulator is already developing a number of bills aimed at strengthening the protection of personal data, which should ensure the safe use of biometrics in the hotel sector," Korneev concluded.

Earlier, on February 4, the Russian Union of Travel Industry in its Telegram-channel said that by the end of March it is planned to launch the service of check-in to hotels on biometrics in Moscow.

Before that, on January 20, the press service of the Center for Biometric Technologies (CBT) told Izvestia that the number of registrations in the Unified Biometric System (UBS) is approaching 3 million.
