Russian economist Oleg Preksin died

Russian economist and financier Oleg Preksin has died at the 73rd year of life. This was announced by the press service of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) on February 5 on its official website.

"We regret to inform about the death of Oleg Mikhailovich Preksin, an outstanding Russian economist and financier, who devoted his life to the development of the Russian banking system and the strengthening of international financial ties", - follows from the publication.

Oleg Preksin started his career in the USSR State Bank. Later he became Russia's representative in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Preksin had a degree and was the author of a number of publications on international monetary and credit relations. It is noted that in recent years he worked to improve the domestic banking system and international payment mechanisms. In addition, Preksin was a member of the working groups of the BRICS Business Council.
